How Cool N Lite®
SecureGard™ works
Engineered with powerful adhesives, Cool N
Lite®
SecureGard™ window films keeps the
glass pieces together and securely attached
to the film.
The films has been tested to meet the
rigorous standards established by the
Consumer Product Safety Commission, the
American National Standards Institute and
numerous other impact, windstorm and bomb
blast mitigation test standards.
SecureGard™
is available in clear, full body dyed
non-reflective and metallized reflective
constructions and in a wide variety of
gauges.
No safety film is ‘bullet proof’ or can
eliminate glass breakage; however,
SecureGard™
increase glass resiliency and by holding
broken glass in place, greatly reduces the
hazards of fragmented glass and the cleanup
task that follows.

offer protection from harmful
ultraviolet (UV) light, which is the

Bullet Resistant Films
Despite unfounded claims by some suppliers,
no window film can make ordinary glass
‘bullet proof’’. There are many factors that
must be taken into account, such as the
caliber of weapon, the physical distance
that the weapon is fired from and the angle.
However,
SecureGard™
Triple Guard SR has proven to significantly
increased bullet resistance.
Below is a photo of a piece of standard
26.5mm bullet resistant glass, designed to
protect against shots fired from a 9mm
handgun , with Triple Guard SR 15 Mil
applied on one side and
SecureGard™
SR 4 Mil on the other.
This glass was able to successfully
withstand a 7.62 twin bullet fired from an
AK-47 assault rifle and a 7.62x25 steel core
bullet fired by a Tockarev model 54 handgun.
Cool N Lite® is not claiming that our
security films are bullet proof, but this
independent test dramatically demonstrates
that
SecureGard™
do increase the level of protection even on
bullet resistant glass.
